报告题目:Electron Transport through Dynamic Semiconductor Junction

报告摘要:

With development of nanotechnology and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology, electronic devices can be miniaturized to reduce their footprints, power consumption and signal processing time. Till now, most of these devices are powered by external power sources, including batteries and supercapacitors, that have limited lifetime. In this talk, a brief review on the mechanism and application of direct current (DC) power generation through dynamic semiconductor junction, which can generate a continuous DC current with a current density fromto. This value is about 6 orders of magnitude higher than the electrostatic generators, piezoelectric generators and triboelectric generators. Because the excellent physical properties of semiconductor materials, dynamic semiconductor junction generator can couple with other physical effect such as photovoltaic effect and thermoelectric effect, which will induce more interesting electrical output characteristics.

报告人简介:

Dr. Shuo Deng is currently working in School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He received the Ph.D. degree from the Wuhan University of Technology, China (2019). He was a visiting student in College of Engineering, Swansea University, UK (2017-2019) and a visiting scholar in Beijing Institute of Nanoenergy and Nanosystems, Chinese Academy of Science, China (2020). His research interests focus on the theoretical and experimental investigation about electric generators and sensors based on semiconductor junctions.

报告摘要:

仿生在具有生命之意的希腊语bion上,加上有工程技术涵义的ics而组成的词。大约从1960年才开始使用。生物具有的功能迄今比任何人工制造的机械都优越得多,仿生学就是要在工程上实现并有效地应用生物功能的一门学科。例如关于信息接收、信息传递、自动控制系统等,这种生物体的结构与功能在机械设计方面给了很大启发。仿生学也被认为是与控制论有密切关系的一门学科,而控制论主要是将生命现象和机械原理加以比较,进行研究和解释的一门学科。仿生是模仿生物系统的功能和行为,来建造技术系统的一种科学方法。它打破了生物和机器的界限,将各种不同的系统沟通起来。本次报告主要介绍了仿生学和仿生计算的基本概念,对仿生计算的类型,仿生计算的仿生性和生命科学界的三个新动态进行了深入研究,最后对仿生计算的科学化进行了总结与展望。

报告人简介:

Prof. Wang Pan received the B.S. degree in industrial automation from Wuhan University of Technology (WHUT), Wuhan, China, in 1994 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in systems engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, in 1998 and 2003, respectively.

He is with the School of Automation and the Institute of Systems Science and Engineering (ISSE), WHUT, where he is currently a Professor, Co-coordinator of the RAE-WHUT International Joint Institute, and the Vice Director of ISSE. His research interests are in the fields of intelligent control and optimization, decision analysis, and biomedical intelligent information systems.

He has published 5 monographies, over 65 journal papers (such as in the IEEE Transaction on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Systems Journal, Chaos, Solitons and Fractals, Expert Systems with Applications, International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, Systems Research and Behavioral Science, Expert Systems, Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics, Journal of System Science and Information, and Dynamics of Continuous, Discrete and Impulsive Systems—Series B), and 35 conference papers.

Dr. Wang is an associate editor of the Journal of Industrial Information Integration (Elsevier), a senior member of the IEEE, a member of the Technical Committee on Enterprise Information Systems, the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society, and Working Group 8.9 / 8.12 of the International Federation for Information Processing. He is a Fellow of the China Creative Studies Institute. He has gained over 18 awards of teaching, science and technology.
